Hello! My name is Melissa Bound and I am committed to inspiring others through health & fitness.

I grew up in Massachusetts, on beautiful Cape Cod. I graduated college with my degree in psychology. Growing up I never struggled with my weight or health, however I had family that did and it impacted my life. I always kept active in sports even in college and enjoyed outdoor activities like hiking and running. Then something happened that made it almost impossible for me to workout, especially outside. In my late-twenties I began getting hives. My body stopped sweating normally. I would begin to itch anytime I worked out. My extremities would get ice cold. Even just a walk around my neighborhood would trigger it.

After many unproductive visits to my doctor, I became very discouraged and stopped exercising. Eventually, I began gaining weight. I knew that I should do something...but what?

Finally I visited my doctor again, and before sending me to a specialist in Boston, he prescribed me one last medication to see if it would help. Thankfully it did! It was able to block the allergic reaction my body was having. I was back on track! But that new medication was just the first step, and my allergies were not the only challenge I'd face.

My husband and I have been married for 17 years.
After a couple years of marriage we decided to start a family. Little did we know we would end up struggling with infertility. I grew up always knowing that I wanted to be a wife and mom above anything else. Fearing our dreams of a family might be taken away from us was devastating.
It was such a heartbreaking and scary time for both of us. God had a plan though, and we were fortunate enough to get through that very difficult time. Two years later we were blessed with our first child, our daughter
who is now 12. Fourteen months later we were blessed again with our second child, our son who is 11. We are thankful every day that we get to be the mom and dad of these two beautiful children.

Time passed and our priorities were set. I then began thinking a little more about my personal goals and what I wanted for the future of our family. After years I found myself bored and feeling completely unfulfilled with my job. I wanted to say goodbye to long days in my office, commuting and being tied to a schedule  that didn't fit our growing family. I did not envision a way that I could possibly fit having a busy mom schedule, working and being able to find the time for fitness (or so I thought!).

Two years ago I was finally ready for that change. I didn't know what that change would be or when it would happen. I was just hopeful and patient, waiting for a sign that would lead me in the right direction. I just knew I was destined for something more, for a job where I'd feel connected, even passionately committed. It was serendipity really how I found Beachbody and then coaching. The opportunity presented itself at a time when deep down inside I knew I needed it the most!

It all started when I ran into a friend that I had not seen in awhile. We talked about life, being moms, wives and staying fit. That is when I learned she was a Beachbody coach. She invited me to join one of her fitness challenge groups and I accepted the invitation. That is when my life changed forever. In my first 3 weeks of doing the 21 Day Fix program paired with Shakeology I lost 10 pounds and 10 1/2 inches overall. I was so happy with my results. Feeling stronger, motivated and more confident, I couldn't wait to share my success with others.

Months later, as my journey continued, I decided to leave my job to pursue coaching, to begin building my new career. I jumped in with both feet and have never looked back!

I'm also the wife of a First Responder who has a schedule that is unpredictable and often takes him away from the house at any given moment. Being able to have the opportunity to work from home just fits our family perfectly. It has lessened the anxiety that I've felt for so many years working away from home.

Now I am able to enjoy being even closer to my family while pursuing my passion for health, fitness and helping others attain success in their own lives. I do this through coaching, mentoring, supporting and motivating others so they too, can achieve unlimited success.

Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to connecting with you!

~ Melissa
